PwC in Zürich seeks an Audit Manager or Senior Manager to lead financial statement audits for private equity and asset management clients, ensuring compliance with global accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
The company acts as a strategic advisor to sophisticated private equity and asset management firms, assisting them in managing intricate fund structures, adapting to changing regulations, and meeting the expectations of international investors. Responsibilities
- Direct the complete audit process for financial statements of asset managers, private equity entities, and private market funds, ensuring adherence to US GAAP, IFRS, Lux GAAO, and Swiss GAAP standards.
- Oversee the examination of complex investment valuations across diverse asset classes, including private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and private equity, to maintain technical precision.
- Handle SEC filing audits for entities reporting under US GAAP and IFRS, coordinating with PCAOB and SOX mandates as needed.
- Evaluate and guide clients on adherence to FINMA regulations, conducting supervisory audits according to relevant guidelines.
- Support business growth by advising on opportunities linked to PwC USA's asset management initiatives, including new product and investment launches.
- Lead international audit teams across the USA, Europe, and other regions to ensure effective collaboration and high-quality service delivery.
- Prepare audit documentation for partner review and present key findings to senior leadership and boards of directors.
- Foster and maintain long-term client relationships by serving as a trusted advisor on technical accounting and regulatory issues.
- Promote the adoption of digital audit tools, data analytics, and automation to enhance audit quality and client value.
- Mentor and develop team members through coaching, feedback, and creating a supportive work environment.
- Participate in business development activities, such as writing proposals, sharing thought leadership, and expanding the firm's footprint in private markets.
Requirements
- A university degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, along with a Swiss CPA, US CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification.
- 5 to 8 years of audit experience for the Manager role, or 8+ years for the Senior Manager role, with a proven background in asset management, private equity, or private markets at a Big 4 or similar organization.
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, Lux GAAP, and Swiss GAAP (OR, Swiss GAAP FER), plus experience with SEC filings and PCAOB standards.
- Solid understanding of private market investment structures, fund accounting, and the valuation of illiquid assets across various asset classes.
- Experience leading and coordinating international teams, managing complex multi-stakeholder engagements across different jurisdictions.
- Proficiency in digital audit transformation, including audit technology platforms, data analytics, and automation tools.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills in English.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with FINMA regulatory requirements and experience conducting supervisory audits is an advantage.
- German language skills are a plus.
