Backend Software Engineer (Hosting)

Infomaniak seeks a Mid-level Backend Software Engineer to design and modernize its web hosting solutions, focusing on reliability, security, and user experience within a hybrid team in Les Acacias, CH.

The Hosting Grand Public team at Infomaniak is responsible for shaping the future of web hosting by transitioning legacy systems into a modern, scalable architecture. This role centers on embedding quality, reliability, and user experience into every technical step of the transformation process.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to migrating hosting solutions to an orchestrated Kubernetes environment.
• Develop API abstraction layers to simplify underlying infrastructure complexity.
• Maintain product stability and code quality through automated testing and active participation in code reviews.
• Protect user data integrity and confidentiality by implementing security best practices, including encryption and API hardening.

Requirements

• Demonstrated expertise in modern PHP (version 8+) and proficiency in complex architectural patterns.
• Experience with the Laravel framework is preferred.
• Ability to create robust, high-performance, and well-documented APIs.
• Approach infrastructure design with a programmable object mindset.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Kubernetes and GitLab CI.
• Background in automatic SSL certificate management (ACME / Let's Encrypt).
• Understanding of shared hosting environments.
• History of open source contributions or personal side projects.
• Strong team collaboration skills and positive communication style.
