Hamilton Bonaduz seeks a mid-level Software Engineer in Bonaduz, CH, to design and maintain scalable Python-based software for its Robotics Business Unit.
Working within the Robotics Business Unit, which specializes in the development and distribution of pipetting robots, this position focuses on building robust software solutions. The engineer will support critical business processes and enhance product capabilities through modern engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Create, test, and upkeep software applications, with a primary focus on Python.
- Adhere to solid engineering standards, ensuring code is modular, clean, and easy to maintain.
- Take part in technical discussions and help shape system design decisions.
- Build and refine automated testing suites at the unit, integration, and system levels.
- Manage the lifecycle of current software components.
- Work closely with hardware engineers, system specialists, and product teams.
- Engage in code reviews to help raise development quality.
- Maintain documentation, manage version control, and support CI/CD workflows.
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or comparable professional experience.
- Three to five years of hands-on software development experience.
- High proficiency in Python, alongside strong skills in other modern programming languages.
- Deep knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, object-oriented or functional programming, and debugging techniques.
- Experience with scripting and automation.
- Understanding of REST APIs and service-oriented architectures.
- Comfort working in Linux-based environments.
Nice to have
- Frontend development experience with Angular or React.
- Knowledge of UI/UX integration principles.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline setups.
