Business Analyst

Blockstream seeks a Junior Business Analyst in Zürich to support blockchain and fintech implementations for banking and institutional clients. The role involves gathering requirements, documenting processes, and bridging business and technical teams.

This client-facing position is part of Blockstream’s Service & Enterprise Solutions team, supporting financial institutions in adopting blockchain technology. The analyst will collaborate with Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, and Product teams to ensure technical solutions meet business and regulatory goals.

Responsibilities

• Collect and document business needs from clients in banking and financial services
• Conduct interviews and sessions to elicit requirements from stakeholders
• Map and record business processes related to digital assets, payments, and financial services
• Develop functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
• Assess business workflows to find areas for improvement
• Translate business needs into clear technical documentation
• Support user acceptance testing and help create test cases
• Facilitate communication between business and technical teams
• Document system designs, data flows, and integration requirements
• Assist with change management and end-user training efforts

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field
• 0–2 years of experience as a Business Analyst (internships in banking, fintech, or consulting count)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Ability to grasp technical topics and explain them to non-technical audiences
• Proficiency in requirements documentation tools such as MS Office, Google Workspace, or Confluence
• Self-motivated and able to work across teams and geographies, maintaining high-quality client engagement throughout project delivery
• Strong skills in managing stakeholders and facilitating meetings
• Willingness to learn about blockchain technology and financial services
• Fluency in French and English required

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of blockchain, cryptocurrency, or digital assets
• Experience with process mapping tools like Visio, Lucidchart, or BPMN
• Familiarity with financial services operations including payments, custody, trading, and settlements
• Working knowledge of SQL or data analysis tools
• Understanding of agile practices and tools such as Jira or Confluence
• Awareness of financial regulations like AML/KYC or MiCA
• Business analysis certification (ECBA, CCBA, or similar) or intent to obtain one
• Interest in career growth within the company
