AMAC Aerospace seeks a Senior Certification Engineer in Basel to manage regulatory compliance, coordinate certification activities, and ensure adherence to aviation standards.
This senior role involves acting as the primary Certification Engineer within a specialized aviation environment. The position is multifaceted and carries significant responsibility, requiring the incumbent to navigate complex regulatory landscapes while supporting the company's design and airworthiness objectives.
Responsibilities
- Verify that the correct Certification Basis applies to specific products, systems, or installations, ensuring all relevant regulations, Means of Compliance, and interpretations are strictly followed.
- Facilitate clear communication and liaison between internal teams and external third parties.
- Coordinate certification activities for outfitting and modification projects, serving as the link between the Office of Airworthiness, Compliance Verification Engineers, the Engineering Department, and external entities such as Air Authorities, Sub-Contractors, and DERs.
- Prepare essential certification documentation, including Certification Plans, Certification Compliance Sheets, Master Data Lists, Classifications of Design Changes, and STC Applications.
- Review technical aircraft documentation and manage coordination activities related to operational aspects, such as registration changes and the import/export of aircraft, ensuring compliance with JAR OPS 1 (EU OPS).
- Provide administrative and organizational support to the Head of Design Organisation, the Chief of Office of Airworthiness, and the Office of Airworthiness.
Requirements
- Qualification as a Senior Engineer, demonstrated by several years of education and practical experience in aviation engineering and design.
- Specialized engineering expertise in at least one discipline: Electric, Avionic, Systems, or Mechanic.
- Proficiency in MS Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills in English.
Nice to have
- Prior experience with various approval procedures, such as EASA Part 21, CS, JAR, or FAR.
- Additional language skills in German or French.
