Cloud & Network Security Service Owner (Engineer)

Avaloq seeks a Senior Cloud & Network Security Service Owner in Zürich to lead security service delivery, automation, and governance across cloud environments.

This position provides full lifecycle ownership of Cloud Security, Cryptographic Services, and Network Security domains. The role is deeply technical and hands-on, focusing on implementation, automation, and continuous improvement rather than pure coordination. The incumbent will define how security services are delivered and managed within cloud and hybrid-cloud infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Manage and enhance the scope of Cloud and Network Security services, covering posture management, detection and response capabilities, cryptographic functions, and network governance.
• Establish and maintain a robust network rule governance framework, including asset inventory, periodic re-accreditation, exception management, and preparation for audits.
• Implement automation-first operational practices, utilizing monitoring, metrics, alerting systems, playbooks, and drift prevention mechanisms.
• Convert stakeholder requirements into actionable standards, product backlogs, and delivery priorities to drive adoption.
• Perform hands-on engineering tasks such as configuration adjustments, scripting, troubleshooting, and providing incident or on-call support.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in cloud and network security within large-scale enterprise settings.
• Practical knowledge of cryptography, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and key and secrets management.
• A strong engineering mindset with capabilities in configuration management, troubleshooting, and automation.
• Ability to manage product backlogs and roadmaps while aligning various stakeholders.
• Fluent proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) security services.
• Experience with Cloudflare, Fortinet, Check Point, or firewall orchestration and governance tools.
• Proficiency in automation using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Python.
• Relevant certifications such as CCSP, CISSP, cloud security credentials, or CCNP Security.
• Additional language skills in German and/or Italian.
