KPMG AG in Zürich seeks a mid-level Consultant for Risk, Controls and Internal Audit. The role supports the team's growth by managing risk projects, optimizing controls, and advising clients across various domains.
This position sits within the Risk, Controls and Internal Audit team, which functions as a transformation office bridging gaps across risk domains to help clients achieve strategic business goals. The consultant will contribute to the high growth of the team by delivering innovative risk management solutions.
Responsibilities
- Support projects spanning enterprise risk management, financial reporting, third-party risk, digital/IT & cyber risk, and risk technology.
- Execute assessments, remediate audit or regulatory gaps, redesign controls, and test control effectiveness.
- Analyze client environments to spot opportunities for risk remediation or optimization.
- Assist in developing proposals and business cases.
- Grow professional networks within the risk and audit community and participate in relevant events.
- Carry out internal engagement setup procedures under colleague guidance.
Requirements
- University degree.
- 1-3 years of experience in internal audit, transformation, enterprise risk management, financial reporting, third-party/digital risk, IT risk & controls, or risk technology (including GRC tools).
- Expertise in scoping processes, assessing risks, designing/optimizing/testing controls, and performing walkthroughs and internal audit procedures.
- Established Swiss network within the risk, controls, and internal audit space.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Willingness to travel regularly to Geneva.
Nice to have
- Qualifications in risk (ACA, ACCA), internal audit (CIA), or project management (PMP), either obtained or in progress.
- Professional proficiency in German.
