CTRM Business Architect

Lead the functional architecture for Trafigura’s Metals, Minerals & Bulk CTRM system in Geneva, transforming business goals into technical roadmaps and supporting global trading operations with innovative IT solutions.

This role leads the end-to-end functional architecture for the Metals, Minerals & Bulk CTRM system, translating complex business initiatives into strategic architectural plans. It supports business expansion by enhancing trading applications through an innovative architecture, aligning IT with business objectives across geographies and business lines.

Responsibilities

• Translate business goals into functional architecture that aligns IT and business teams
• Lead key architectural decisions, including buy vs. build assessments
• Develop roadmaps that balance long-term strategy with immediate operational needs
• Manage cross-functional complexity and guide trade-offs, such as global standards versus local market requirements
• Support application teams during delivery, ensuring architectural consistency and adapting to change
• Guide the evolution of Trafigura’s functional landscape and conceptual data models
• Collaborate with technical leads to ensure technical architecture supports business objectives
• Stay current with industry trends to drive innovation and process improvements
• Lead and develop a team of architects, supporting their growth while meeting business goals
• Promote collaboration and excellence across the IT organization

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in business analysis or architecture roles
• 3+ years of experience managing and developing people in fast-paced, high-performance environments
• Deep domain knowledge in commodity trading, covering the full physical trade lifecycle
• Strong grasp of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, and modern practices such as modular architecture and API-led integration
• Proven track record in delivering large-scale applications in global teams
• Ability to convert business goals into technical plans, resolve complex conflicts, and make decisions balancing short-term and long-term needs
• Capacity to plan and execute work independently with a proactive mindset
• Comfortable operating in a flat, matrix management structure
• Fluent in English
