Senior Expert Algo Trading Architecture

Coopers Group AG seeks a Senior Expert Algo Trading Architecture for an on-site contract role in Bern, CH. The position focuses on designing integrated end-to-end architectures for algo-trading platforms while ensuring regulatory compliance and cross-functional collaboration.

This senior architecture role is responsible for developing and consolidating a unified end-to-end framework for algorithmic trading systems. The expert will work closely with trading desks, IT teams, enterprise architecture groups, and external partners to align technical solutions with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and unify the complete architecture for algorithmic trading platforms.
• Break down and clarify intricate business and technical needs.
• Make informed architectural choices and outline long-term solution strategies.
• Maintain system governance, audit trails, and adherence to regulatory standards.
• Produce clear architecture and project documentation for decision-making gates.
• Partner with trading, IT, enterprise architecture, and outside vendors.
• Review current architectures to spot areas for improvement.
• Help integrate new tools into existing system environments.
• Maintain a holistic view of all trading workflows and system elements.

Requirements

• Multiple years of experience as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or similar role.
• Hands-on background in constructing, merging, or upgrading algo-trading systems.
• Thorough grasp of algo-trading workflows, especially signal generation, order execution, and trade recording.
• Experience managing complex enterprise environments and designing scalable architectures.
• Capacity to make architectural calls in uncertain conditions and organize technical challenges.
• Familiarity with trading regulations (e.g., MiFID), auditability, and governance.
• Analytical, structured, and solution-focused approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Fluent English proficiency.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of German and French is a plus.
