PerkinElmer Scientific (Switzerland) GmbH seeks a Customer Service Engineer for refrigeration equipment in Schachen, CH. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, and qualification of controlled temperature units within GxP environments.

This position is responsible for the upkeep and repair of customer-controlled temperature units, including freezers and incubators. The engineer operates within GxP-regulated settings and may need to access areas governed by EHS standards to ensure equipment functionality and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Execute maintenance and repair tasks on various controlled temperature units such as freezers, refrigerators, incubators, and climatic chambers.
  • Carry out temperature mapping activities and assist with equipment qualification processes.
  • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of devices.
  • Diagnose issues, conduct tests, and repair equipment to restore functionality.
  • Handle cleaning and decontamination procedures as required.
  • Manage customer materials according to established protocols.
  • Document all activities in the customer's CCMS or SMMS systems, adhering to ALCOA+ principles.
  • Deliver timely, high-quality repairs for customer appliances.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and care.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business performance and enhance the customer experience.
  • Communicate the benefits of Value-Added Services to customers.
  • Draft maintenance and calibration protocols in compliance with relevant standards.
  • Provide frontline support, maintenance, and qualification assistance for simple devices to the on-site team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience as a Refrigeration or Cooling Appliances Repair Service Technician or in a similar capacity.
  • Valid authorization to handle refrigerants in industrial applications, specifically Swiss VFB-K Art. 1 Abs. 1 Bst. B or an equivalent certification.
  • Swiss Federal Certificate of Capacity as an Installer-Electrician, or eligibility/possession of limited installation licenses under Articles 13, 14, or 15 of the Low-Voltage Electrical Installations Ordinance (OIBT/NIV).
  • A valid driver’s license.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience working in a GxP environment.
  • Proficiency in languages other than English and German.
