The company seeks a Junior Data Scientist in Zürich to develop data-driven solutions and advise clients on business performance. The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in Python and SQL, and fluency in German and English.

This position places the candidate within cross-functional teams to leverage data for tangible business improvements. The role involves collaborating with engineers, designers, and subject matter experts to deliver analytics solutions that help clients transform their operations and achieve strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze diverse, large-scale datasets from major global organizations to address complex business challenges.
  • Create robust data science models and solutions for clients, while also building reusable assets for internal data teams in close collaboration with Data Engineering.
  • Communicate insights, strategic recommendations, and expert advice to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Design and implement scalable analytics platforms capable of handling advanced client scenarios.
  • Adopt and apply industry best practices for data development, ensuring code quality, security, sustainability, and adherence to responsibility models.
  • Cultivate strong client-facing capabilities, including clear communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business mathematics, statistics, machine learning, data science, physics, computer science, or engineering.
  • Up to two years of professional experience applying advanced data science techniques and building technical solutions to solve business problems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with a focus on data and analytics applications.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based analytical platforms from leading providers like AWS, MS Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Practical background in developing generative AI applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in advisory roles.
  • Evidence of leadership in professional or extracurricular contexts.
  • Fluency in both German and English.
  • Ability to explain complex analytical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences, such as business managers and product heads.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree or PhD in data science, computer science, business informatics, or a related field.
