Roche seeks a Digital Measures Lead in Basel to integrate sensor-based digital health technologies into drug development programs for neuroscience indications.

This position sits within the Computational Sciences Centre of Excellence in Roche’s Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED) division. The incumbent reports to the Sensor Data Insights group lead and focuses on embedding digital health tools into clinical studies for conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis. The role aims to enhance trial productivity through innovative measurement strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with drug development teams to identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities for improving clinical trial efficiency using sensor-based digital health technologies.
  • Create and execute detailed roadmaps to address unmet measurement needs, including the validation of relevant digital health tools.
  • Oversee the implementation of these roadmaps by securing necessary governance approvals, allocating resources, and managing partnerships with vendors and technology providers.
  • Ensure the smooth incorporation of sensor-based digital health technologies into clinical trial operations, study designs, and data analysis workflows.
  • Build and maintain external relationships with industry partners, academic institutions, regulatory bodies, technology providers, and patient groups.
  • Establish thought leadership in the field by presenting at conferences and publishing peer-reviewed scientific articles.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent professional experience in Digital Health, Life Sciences, Computer Science, Neuroscience, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience applying sensor-based digital health technologies to enhance R&D productivity across Phase I-IV clinical trials.
  • Extensive knowledge of neuroscience, with specific expertise in Alzheimer’s disease and Multiple Sclerosis.
  • Proven ability to apply sensor-based digital health solutions to clinical trial use cases within neuroscience domains.
  • A strong record of impactful scientific leadership demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications.
  • An intrapreneurial approach combined with matrix leadership capabilities and the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills in English.
