Director Fitting Software Solutions (m/f/d)

Sonova seeks a Director for Fitting Software Solutions in Staefa, CH, to lead the delivery and evolution of scalable, brand-agnostic software for hearing care professionals.

This leadership position oversees the complete lifecycle of fitting software applications, ensuring they meet rigorous quality, scalability, and regulatory standards. The role focuses on integrating these solutions across multiple brands and regions to deliver meaningful audiological value and improve lives globally.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full development cycle of fitting software, from initial feature creation to final release and stabilization.
• Manage the integration and evolution of software variants to ensure robust, scalable solutions for global markets.
• Convert product priorities into actionable delivery plans, handling dependencies, timelines, and risks across various release cycles.
• Coordinate with System Integration, Platform, Audiological, and Verification teams to ensure software readiness and governance.
• Work with Marketing, Brand teams, and business stakeholders to align software delivery with global and regional commercial goals.
• Promote quality standards, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the software development process.
• Mentor and develop high-performing global engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and leadership growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent experience in regulated software development.
• Extensive background in fitting software or hearing system development, including application delivery and lifecycle management.
• Proven track record of leading complex software solutions in multi-release, regulated environments.
• Experience managing cross-functional, international engineering teams across multiple sites and brands.
• Strong expertise in software delivery governance, release planning, dependency management, and technical debt handling.
• Systems thinking skills to navigate complex environments and balance quality, risk, and business priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities to build trust across engineering, marketing, and business teams.
• Fluent English proficiency.

• Familiarity with medical device regulations and software validation frameworks.
• Experience in organizational transformation or data-informed product development.
• Proficiency in German.
