Embedded Software Development Engineer (Linux) (m/f/d)

Global Clearance Solutions AG seeks a Senior Embedded Software Development Engineer (Linux) in Zürich to design advanced software for wireless and signal-processing systems on SoC platforms.

This position focuses on creating sophisticated embedded software within a Linux environment for next-generation wireless and signal-processing hardware. The engineer will manage the entire software lifecycle, from initial architectural design through to final deployment on modern System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms.

Responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and enhance embedded software solutions for Linux-based systems.
• Develop and refine applications specifically for System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures.
• Architect and implement clean, scalable, and thoroughly documented application programming interfaces (APIs).
• Work with cross-functional teams to build web-based graphical user interfaces for system monitoring and control.
• Integrate software components with hardware to ensure complete system functionality.
• Conduct debugging, performance optimization, and troubleshooting of embedded systems.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold high standards of software quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate closely with hardware engineers, system engineers, and product management teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated professional experience in embedded software development.
• Proficient programming skills in C and C++.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, including both kernel and user-space environments.
• Experience working with SoC architectures and low-level hardware interfaces.
• Proven ability to design and implement APIs.
• Familiarity with network protocols and embedded communication interfaces.
• Knowledge of web technologies such as REST APIs, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for GUI development.
• Fluent proficiency in English.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in programming languages other than C and C++.
• German language skills.
• Background in wireless communication or signal-processing applications.
• Understanding of real-time systems and embedded security principles.
• Experience with build systems and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
