Tecan Group AG seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Switzerland to design and test embedded software for liquid handling and robotic applications, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

The Robotics team at Tecan Group AG is looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to shape future technologies. The role focuses on creating, testing, and refining embedded software solutions for liquid handling and robotic systems, while ensuring high software quality through systematic processes and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement software concepts for embedded systems using modern C++.
  • Maintain software quality through systematic testing, error correction, and the use of advanced tools.
  • Work closely with electronics, software, and mechanics teams to integrate software solutions.
  • Assess new tools and methods, and establish coding standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to processes, SOPs, and regulatory standards such as IEC 62304 and ISO 13485.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field like Mechatronics, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
  • A strong passion for embedded software engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in modern C++ development, preferably C++20.
  • Experience with advanced template metaprogramming.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS), preferably POSIX-based.
  • Knowledge of communication interfaces and protocols like SPI, CAN, QUIC, and Ethernet-based protocols (e.g., UDP).
  • A strong sense of ownership and the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
  • Good written and spoken English skills.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Protobuf, CMake, Tracealyzer, and Docker.
  • Experience in sensing technologies and motor control systems.
  • German language skills.
