Perk seeks an Engineering Manager for its ERP team in Zürich to lead software engineers, drive technical strategy, and foster a high-performing, collaborative culture.

This position leads the ERP engineering group at Perk, an intelligent platform for travel and spend management trusted by over 10,000 companies. The role focuses on delivering scalable systems, mentoring engineers, and aligning technical execution with the company's mission to transform how businesses operate.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of engineering projects and support the professional growth of direct reports.
  • Serve as a servant leader, adjusting leadership approaches based on team needs and project phases.
  • Coach and mentor individuals to take ownership of their career paths and maintain high performance standards.
  • Champion technical excellence by ensuring the team has the necessary time and context to build robust systems.
  • Facilitate smooth collaboration within the team and guide them through architectural or design challenges.
  • Create and refine long-term technical strategies and roadmaps in partnership with Product Managers and aligned with broader organizational goals.
  • Plan strategic team expansion to support the delivery of highly available features that scale with company growth.
  • Lead recruitment efforts to grow and strengthen the engineering organization.
  • Leverage business and team metrics to ensure a premium customer experience.
  • Provide constructive feedback to internal stakeholders across Product and Engineering, as well as other business units.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience managing software engineering teams.
  • Current or recent management of a team comprising approximately 8 to 10 engineers.
  • A technical background, preferably with hands-on experience as an individual contributor in software engineering.
  • Proven ability to cultivate a positive work culture that enhances team well-being and productivity.
  • Experience managing larger groups by establishing effective delegation processes and systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, both technical and organizational, to remove blockers and optimize team performance.
  • Conduct thorough performance reviews that recognize achievements and identify growth opportunities aligned with business needs.
  • A pragmatic approach focused on simplicity, efficiency, and high performance.
  • Agility to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities.
  • Experience or strong interest in AI-driven development, including agentic workflows and custom AI skills.
