The Events Director leads the planning and execution of live, hybrid, and digital events for Zurich Insurance Company in Zürich. The role focuses on enhancing audience experience, managing budgets, and driving brand engagement through innovative event strategies.

This position serves as the primary leader for Group Events, responsible for designing and delivering high-impact live, hybrid, and digital experiences. The role aims to elevate audience engagement, improve production standards, and introduce creative concepts that support the company's global campaigns and brand objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main coordinator for Group Events, providing team guidance and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Oversee the complete lifecycle of internal and external events, from concept development and content creation to run-of-show planning and execution.
  • Enhance audience engagement and production quality by introducing innovative formats, creative flows, and sustainable practices.
  • Direct event delivery from initial brief through post-event analysis, coordinating with cross-functional teams and external agencies for large-scale productions.
  • Manage event budgets, timelines, and the overall calendar, while briefing and directing external suppliers to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Lead the execution of complex events across live, hybrid, and virtual formats, including managing attendee journeys, speaker coordination, venue logistics, and on-site production.
  • Maintain clear communication and documentation with internal teams, clients, and vendors to keep all stakeholders aligned.
  • Track event performance and outcomes, capturing insights to refine processes and improve audience feedback mechanisms.
  • Oversee event technology platforms, including Cvent and the Global ME database, collaborating with colleagues and vendors on registration, apps, streaming, and production workflows.

Requirements

  • Minimum of eight years of experience delivering high-profile corporate events across live, hybrid, and digital formats.
  • Demonstrated expertise in program and project management, including budget control, vendor coordination, and stakeholder engagement, with an agile working style.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team of event professionals.
  • Hands-on proficiency with event technology tools, particularly Cvent and enterprise-level event databases, with the ability to quickly adapt to new platforms.
  • Proven success in managing complex virtual and hybrid events, with a focus on audience experience, production quality, and proactive risk management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with senior executives and diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced, international setting.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and German, with the ability to clearly brief, advise, and present to speakers, senior leaders, and production partners.
  • Established network of event, AV, broadcast, and multimedia production partners, with knowledge of best practices for creative and sustainable productions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
