Experienced Aircraft Mechanic B1

Zimex Aviation seeks a Senior B1 Aircraft Mechanic in Altenrhein to handle base and line maintenance, troubleshooting, and international field service for a diverse aircraft fleet.

This position focuses on maintaining a varied aircraft fleet within a modern base maintenance facility, while also supporting line maintenance tasks. The role requires the ability to travel for international field-service assignments and resolve complex technical issues independently.

Responsibilities

• Execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, ensuring strict adherence to authority regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and general aviation safety standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot aircraft systems following specific manufacturer protocols.
• Implement Service Bulletins (SBs) and Airworthiness Directives (ADs) in full compliance with regulatory and manufacturer requirements.
• Conduct mechanical and minor structural repairs as directed by manufacturer instructions.
• Perform system adjustments, operational checks, and rectify defects identified during flight operations.
• Log unusual defects and occurrences into the Prism safety system according to AMC 20-8 and Regulation 2042/2003.
• Verify that all maintenance work is complete, documentation is signed, and technical records are accurate before aircraft release.
• Communicate regularly with the Hangar Manager regarding work progress, additional parts needs, or regulatory deviations.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with occupational health and safety rules.
• Operate independently as a field service engineer or troubleshooter when deployed.

Requirements

• Hold a valid EASA Part-66 Category B1 aircraft maintenance licence.
• Possess at least three years of proven experience as a licensed B1 engineer in base or line maintenance.
• Have completed an apprenticeship as a mechanic or hold equivalent technical education.
• Demonstrate good proficiency in English.
• Be skilled in using standard PC applications such as Word and Excel.

Nice to have

• Hold a type rating for Cessna C208, DHC-6, Pilatus PC-6, or King Air B200.
• Show high reliability, a strong sense of responsibility, self-checking habits, and commercial awareness.
• Be willing to work flexible hours and travel, with the ability to integrate well into a team.
