Expert Data Engineer

Orange Business Digital Switzerland SA seeks an Expert Data Engineer in Meyrin, CH, to design and maintain scalable data pipelines. The role requires strong SQL skills, 5+ years of experience, and fluency in French and English, with hybrid work available.

This hands-on role invites an Expert Data Engineer to join a dynamic team, focusing on building and optimizing data systems and pipelines with a solid foundation in SQL and data architecture.

Responsibilities

• Create, implement, and sustain efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines.
• Build ETL packages and complex SQL queries and stored procedures for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
• Lead data lakehouse/warehouse modeling to ensure high-performance, maintainable, and scalable data architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver matching technical solutions.
• Monitor and enhance database performance, including tuning SQL queries and ETL packages.
• Work with data analysts and team members to resolve data infrastructure and technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Architect, or in a similar role.
• Solid grasp of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience in data integration and data pipeline architecture.
• Strong ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Fluency in both French and English, both spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with relational database technologies such as NoSQL or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with Azure, Azure Data Factory, DBT, DataBricks, Snowflake, or MS Fabric.
• Advanced proficiency in Python.
