Alpiq AG seeks a Senior Financial Lead for Nuclear Power in Olten, CH, to drive strategic financial decision-making through performance reporting, scenario analysis, and stakeholder engagement. The role requires a master’s degree in business, finance, or economics, 10+ years of corporate experience, and fluency in German and English with working proficiency in French.
This role supports strategic and operational decision-making within Alpiq’s Nuclear Power division by delivering data-driven insights, performance analysis, and financial oversight. The Financial Lead ensures alignment between financial planning and business objectives, while fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
Responsibilities
- Provide management-ready financial reports to the Head of Nuclear Power.
- Use monthly and quarterly reporting to guide performance and strategic decisions.
- Deliver timely, actionable insights on value drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Conduct forward-looking analyses, scenarios, and decision support for the business.
- Act as a strategic partner in initiatives including new business models and growth opportunities.
- Promote a performance-driven culture by challenging targets and improving efficiency.
- Support portfolio decisions, M&A activities, and capital allocation related to Nuclear Power.
- Represent Alpiq in financial committees, boards, and governance bodies of asset companies.
- Guide and consolidate planning and forecasting processes across the business.
- Ensure financial plans align with strategic goals.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Economics, or an engineering degree with advanced finance education.
- 10+ years of corporate experience, including regular interaction with senior leadership.
- Solid understanding of energy markets and products.
- Proven ability to influence and challenge stakeholders across functions and levels.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with skill in translating complex topics into clear business insights.
- High resilience and ownership mindset, with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Extensive experience in planning, forecasting, and performance steering.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills, capable of leading cross-functional efforts.
- Fluent in German and English, with working proficiency in French.
