KPMG AG seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer in Zürich to bridge software engineering and business strategy, driving digital transformation within the Audit & Assurance division through agile, DevOps-led solutions.
This position acts as the technical liaison for the Audit & Assurance Technology team, operating within a multidisciplinary group focused on corporate audits. The engineer serves as the primary technical interface for internal clients, deploying innovative solutions to address complex operational challenges. By combining software development, business analysis, and technical consulting, the role executes digital transformation initiatives for KPMG Switzerland’s Audit business, aiming to become the partner of choice for supported departments.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead independent engineering projects using lean, agile, and DevOps methodologies to create innovative tools for the Audit division.
- Collaborate closely with Solution Architects to design custom technical extensions built upon core product platforms.
- Convert business needs into functional proof-of-concepts and scalable software implementations.
- Manage engineering and project workflows to deliver complex IT and business transformations using established technology patterns.
- Enhance technology value streams continuously to ensure the team is recognized as a preferred partner by business units.
- Maintain high software quality standards and monitor emerging technological trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices and associated delivery tools.
- Proven ability to analyze and comprehend operational business processes.
- Hands-on experience with cloud ecosystems, particularly Microsoft Azure.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C#, Python, or PowerShell.
- Prior involvement in projects utilizing Power Platform, PowerBI, or ServiceNow.
- Solid knowledge of enterprise security protocols and data privacy regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in business terms.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for agile delivery and engineering management.
- Background in Financial Services, consulting, or Audit environments.
- Relevant Azure certifications.
