Google seeks a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer in Zürich to act as a technical partner for Google Cloud customers, designing and deploying solutions while supporting sales and engineering teams.
This position serves as a technical advisor and trusted partner for clients utilizing Google Cloud services. The primary purpose is to help customers address complex business challenges by designing, building, and deploying effective cloud solutions. The role bridges the gap between customer needs and technical implementation, ensuring successful adoption of Google Cloud technologies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with sales personnel to uncover new opportunities and contribute to revenue expansion.
- Work directly with clients to grasp their specific technical needs and overarching business objectives.
- Architect and deploy cloud-based solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform capabilities.
- Offer expert technical advice and industry best practices to guide customer decisions.
- Partner with internal engineering groups to share insights that drive product enhancements and feature development.
- Guide clients through the entire solution lifecycle, from initial proof of concept to full production rollout.
Requirements
- At least five years of professional experience in software engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms, including GCP, AWS, or Azure, along with knowledge of modern software architecture patterns.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++.
- Strong ability to communicate clearly and build effective interpersonal relationships.
- Comfort working in a rapid, changing environment.
- Fluency in English is mandatory for this position.

- Prior experience working with Google Cloud products and services.
- Background in customer-facing technical roles.
- Fluency in both French and German languages.
