Lonza seeks a Global Director for HR Services Category Management in Basel to lead procurement strategy for a ~200 MCHF spend, driving value and innovation.
The company is looking for a strategic leader to take full accountability for the global HR Services procurement category. This role focuses on optimizing costs, fostering innovation, and delivering significant value across a substantial budget while managing complex international supplier relationships.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement worldwide category strategies informed by market trends, demand forecasts, and business goals.
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders in HR, legal, finance, and digital teams to guide sourcing decisions.
- Manage the full supplier lifecycle, including selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring to ensure reliability and innovation.
- Direct international, cross-functional teams to execute transformation projects focused on automation, standardization, and digital tools.
- Define and track KPIs and performance dashboards to enhance service quality and reduce total cost of ownership.
- Promote a culture of procurement excellence and manage change across global processes and systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven track record in global category management, specifically within HR or professional services in complex, multinational settings.
- Strong commercial skills with expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and cost reduction.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders on a global scale.
- Deep understanding of supply markets, cost drivers, and emerging technologies in HR services.
- Experience leading transformation, process optimization, and change management initiatives.
- Fluent proficiency in English.
