The company seeks a Senior Category Manager for Pharmaceuticals to develop procurement strategies, optimize portfolios, and drive cost savings through data analytics and cross-functional collaboration.
This position is responsible for shaping and executing category strategies for pharmaceuticals across their full lifecycle. The role uses spend, market, and supplier data to find cost-saving opportunities, reduce risks, and support procurement choices with solid evidence. It also focuses on standardizing products, refining portfolios, and aligning data to boost efficiency and create synergies throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute category strategies while overseeing assigned procurement areas from start to finish.
- Analyze spending patterns, market trends, supplier performance, and demand to uncover savings, manage risks, and back procurement choices with data.
- Build and update KPI dashboards, benchmarks, and business cases to help teams make informed decisions.
- Push forward efforts to standardize products, optimize portfolios, and harmonize data to improve efficiency and find synergies.
- Guide cross-functional projects and work with senior leaders in Procurement, Hospitals, Supply Chain, and other business units to achieve measurable results.
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field, with professional certifications in Strategic Procurement or Category Management being a plus.
- Minimum of five years in Category Management, preferably within healthcare or a highly regulated sector.
- Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in spend analytics, KPI tracking, statistics, and data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, build consensus among diverse groups, and communicate effectively with executive leadership.
- Self-motivated, structured, and solution-focused approach, with solid SAP MM and Microsoft Office proficiency, a commercial mindset, strong project management abilities, and fluent German and English communication skills.
