Rivr, an Amazon robotics company, seeks a Hardware Engineering Intern in Zürich to support the design, prototyping, and testing of autonomous delivery robots. The role requires a strong engineering background and hands-on project experience.
As an intern at Amazon Rivr, you will join a team developing advanced wheeled-legged robots for last-mile delivery. Your work will focus on mechanical structures, electronics, and sensors, helping to build and test hardware that operates in complex urban environments.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and developing mechanical components, electronic circuits, sensors, and actuators for robotic platforms.
- Participate in prototype construction, testing, and result analysis to enhance hardware functionality.
- Prepare technical documentation covering hardware specifications, assembly guidelines, and testing protocols.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate hardware with software systems and suggest optimization strategies.
- Engage in practical, hands-on robotics development.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building complex projects under tight deadlines, such as Formula SAE, ETH Fokus projects, Motostudent, Hyperloop, or Boring Company competitions.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Strong interest in robotics and a desire to contribute to hardware development.
- Basic knowledge of electronics, sensors, and actuators.
- Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical design or eCAD software for PCBA design.
- Minimum of a BSc in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or Altium.
- Previous coursework or projects in robotics, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.
- A portfolio of personal projects (please include it with your application).
