Head of Internal Audit

Omya Schweiz AG seeks a Senior Head of Internal Audit in Oftringen to lead risk management, business continuity, and health & safety strategies while reporting to the VP of Sustainability.

This senior position is responsible for steering the organization’s risk management framework and ensuring robust business continuity and health and safety protocols. The role reports directly to the Vice President Sustainability and oversees one direct report, requiring strong leadership to align operational practices with regulatory standards and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and oversee the company’s overall risk management strategy.
• Create, test, and maintain Business Continuity Plans to ensure operational resilience.
• Manage the Risk Register, ensuring it is regularly updated and reviewed by the Management Team.
• Audit and support quality assurance systems throughout the organization.
• Guarantee that all data handling systems, both digital and physical, comply with current legislation.
• Develop and implement health and safety procedures across all departments.
• Chair and facilitate the Health & Safety Working Group.
• Participate actively in regular management meetings to provide insights and recommendations.
• Deliver all projects within the allocated budget and resource limits.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in risk assessment.
• Proven background in conducting internal audits.
• Experience implementing policies and procedures within complex organizational structures.
• Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities.
• Fluent oral and written proficiency in the local language and English.
• A university degree or specialized diploma in environmental health, engineering, physical sciences, or a related discipline.
