Swiss Re seeks a Senior Operations Manager for its Group Internal Audit Office in Zürich. This hybrid role focuses on strategic execution, governance, and stakeholder management within the audit function.
Serving as the operational backbone of the Group Internal Audit function, this position acts as a key strategic partner to the Chief Audit Executive and the extended leadership team. The role ensures that strategic priorities are translated into effective operational execution while maintaining high visibility and influence across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Drive the development and practical implementation of strategic goals and transformation initiatives for the audit function.
- Provide strategic counsel and partnership to the Chief Audit Executive, the COO of GIA, and the broader leadership group.
- Create and manage high-impact presentations and materials for senior forums, including leadership meetings and audit committee sessions.
- Design, implement, and maintain governance frameworks and management routines to ensure consistent oversight.
- Enforce governance standards and strategic directives across various audit units and regional teams.
- Establish and nurture trusted relationships with senior stakeholders throughout the GIA and the wider organization.
- Lead operating model changes, ensuring successful implementation, adoption, and ongoing improvement.
- Align audit activities with broader business objectives by translating high-level strategy into actionable operational plans.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute plans effectively.
- Strong skills in managing relationships with executive stakeholders.
- Expertise in designing and overseeing governance frameworks.
- Exceptional communication abilities, including executive-level presentation skills.
- Experience in leading or supporting transformation and change management initiatives.
Nice to have
- Background in internal audit, risk management, or compliance within a large, complex financial services organization.
- Familiarity with GIA performance frameworks, KPI design, and management information reporting at a strategic level.
- Experience working across international or multi-regional teams.
- Exposure to organisational design or operating model transformation programmes.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
