Swiss Re seeks a Senior Underwriting Transformation Manager in Zürich to lead governance, AI, and digital changes across Group Underwriting. Hybrid role, 80-100%.
This position sits at the core of Group Underwriting, blending governance, technology, and business transformation. The incumbent will help define the future of underwriting governance, portfolio steering, and AI-driven decision-making, with the goal of modernizing how these processes operate across both Property & Casualty and Life & Health divisions.
Responsibilities
- Translate complex business challenges into clear problem statements and actionable solutions.
- Oversee project delivery, including financial stewardship, milestone planning, reporting, and stakeholder alignment.
- Design and implement future-state operating models for underwriting governance, portfolio steering, and decision-making.
- Lead digital and AI transformation initiatives by developing strong business cases and ensuring disciplined execution.
- Collaborate across business units, functions, and regions to ensure solutions are practical, adopted, and sustainable.
- Partner with programme, business, and Data & Tech leads to facilitate timely decisions and successful delivery.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in management consulting or professional services delivery.
- Demonstrated success in leading end-to-end complex transformations, including managing cross-functional teams.
- Experience delivering digital, analytics, AI-enabled, or technology-driven transformation projects.
- Strong knowledge of project and change methodologies such as Agile, Lean, Waterfall, Change Management, and Process Engineering.
- Ability to bridge strategy and execution through problem structuring, data analysis, process design, and creating decision-ready artifacts.
- Strong analytical and financial skills, including comfort with business cases, benefits tracking, and translating recommendations into measurable outcomes.
Nice to have
- Experience in (re)insurance, particularly in Underwriting, Claims, or Operations.
- Background supporting other financial services sectors.
What the company offers
- Base salary between 126,000 CHF and 188,000 CHF for a full-time position.
- Eligibility for a performance-based annual bonus.
- Hybrid work model requiring at least three days per week in the office.
