Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. seeks a Senior Captive Underwriter for its Global Employee Benefits Solutions team in Zürich. The role focuses on risk assessment, reinsurance structuring, and supporting multinational clients.

This position sits within the Zurich Global Employee Benefits Solutions team, where the primary objective is to assist multinational corporations with financing solutions for their global employee benefit plans. The incumbent serves as the main technical contact for corporate clients and aids the sales division in securing new business and establishing reinsurance structures.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the sales department during the request for proposal phase.
• Facilitate the onboarding of new captive entities by organizing their reinsurance programs.
• Deliver underwriting expertise for captive clients during onboarding and renewal cycles within the ZGEBS network.
• Apply rigorous methods to evaluate risk for both new and existing business.
• Act as a representative for ZGEBS in final client presentations and discussions.
• Share ZGEBS knowledge at industry conferences and with external consultants.
• Refine the captive offering by balancing market needs with corporate goals.
• Assess protection requirements and submit proposals that align with risk appetite and profitability targets.
• Provide backup underwriting support to colleagues when needed.

Requirements

• Possess 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience underwriting employee benefit schemes for Life and/or Health sectors.
• Hold a degree in mathematics, finance, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrate the capacity to rapidly grasp new technical concepts and analyze pricing datasets.
• Exhibit strong analytical capabilities with a focus on precision.
• Showcase advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Thrive in a dynamic, multicultural team environment.
• Be proficient in MS Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Communicate effectively and feel comfortable presenting to and negotiating with clients.

• Background in establishing reinsurance agreements and a solid grasp of reinsurance coverage types.
