Swiss Re seeks a Junior Underwriting Assistant in Zürich for a hybrid role. The position supports international insurance programs, focusing on policy administration, client coordination, and operational accuracy within the Swiss market.
This position serves as a critical connection between underwriting teams, clients, brokers, and global partners. The primary purpose is to ensure smooth policy administration and high-quality service delivery for International Insurance Programs, with a specific emphasis on operations within the Swiss market.
Responsibilities
- Oversee implementation activities for international programs to guarantee consistent quality and effective service.
- Coordinate the issuance of policies and invoices by managing transactional business through IT systems.
- Handle Pre-Quote and Pre-Bind procedures, manage service exceptions, and process endorsements.
- Track operational performance metrics and identify potential bottlenecks before they impact service.
- Work with Technical Accounting colleagues to monitor cash positions across the program portfolio.
- Collaborate with Claims departments to facilitate timely information exchange with clients.
- Act as a reliable point of contact for external stakeholders, including brokers and insured parties.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in all relevant systems and tools.
- Prepare contractual documents such as policies, certificates, invoices, and endorsements.
- Perform initial deal analysis and prepare account data, including necessary tax calculations.
- Review and verify data accuracy against source documents.
- Support the creation and upkeep of Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in a comparable role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Swiss Insurance market and Multinational Program Business.
- Specific expertise in Swiss Property Insurance.
- Strong understanding of Insurance Accounting principles.
- Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in additional European languages such as French, Italian, or Spanish.
- Additional education or professional qualifications in insurance, finance, or related fields.
- Proven ability to build relationships in multi-cultural and cross-functional environments.
- A strong goal-orientation and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Experience using IT tools for policy administration or underwriting support.
- A demonstrated focus on detail and quality.

- A base salary ranging from 94,000 to 142,000 CHF for a full-time position.
