Underwriter (P&C DACH)

PartnerRe seeks a Mid-level Underwriter for P&C DACH in Zürich. The role focuses on underwriting profitable treaty business, pricing, and client relationship management within the region.

This position supports the Head of D/A/CH within the P&C EMEA division. The primary objective is to market and underwrite profitable Property & Casualty Treaty business, covering Property Risk, Catastrophe, Regional Casualty, and Motor lines, while maintaining strong relationships with regional clients.

Responsibilities

• Secure and renew profitable business in the DACH area that aligns with the company's risk appetite.
• Evaluate clients and business risks, ensuring all underwriting decisions are properly documented.
• Collaborate with actuaries to determine accurate pricing for treaty agreements.
• Promote PartnerRe’s services to clients and brokers across the region.
• Attend client meetings, industry conferences, internal workshops, and seminars.
• Coordinate with internal teams such as Cat Modelling, Pricing, Accounting, Claims, Wording, and Operations.
• Handle administrative duties including reviewing contracts, processing endorsements, and maintaining portfolio data quality.

Requirements

• Three to five years of experience in reinsurance underwriting or pricing.
• Solid understanding of Property Risk and Catastrophe underwriting, modelling, and pricing principles.
• Full professional proficiency in German.
• Fluent command of English.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
