Roche seeks a Head of Procurement Analytics & Insights for a 12–18 month fixed-term role in Basel. The position leads the analytics function, driving strategic transformation and data governance for global procurement operations.
This position provides strategic and operational leadership for the procurement analytics team during a 12–18 month coverage period. The role is essential for executing the global analytics roadmap and guiding the organization toward a more insights-driven model. The incumbent will enhance sourcing, contracting, and supplier management by establishing a proactive, data-centric approach.
Responsibilities
- Lead the analytics team through a 12–18 month transition, shifting focus from routine reporting to proactive, insight-generating activities.
- Implement the Global Procurement analytics roadmap in collaboration with Procurement Enablement and IT on enterprise data projects.
- Manage spend analysis, predictive modeling, and cost/risk tracking to improve sourcing and category management results.
- Enhance data governance, integrate ERP and non-ERP systems, and assess modern technologies like AI, ML, RPA, and Snowflake for scalable solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Finance, IT, and business leaders, converting complex data into actionable decision-support strategies.
- Mentor team members, develop future leaders, and ensure knowledge transfer for sustainable improvements beyond the contract period.
- Oversee internal business insights support services, develop analytics solutions, and maintain high data quality and governance standards.
Requirements
- Over 10 years of experience in analytics or data science, including at least 5 years managing teams in global, matrixed environments.
- Master’s degree in Business, Data Science, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent extensive practical experience.
- Proficiency in analytical and visualization tools such as Python, R, SQL, Tableau, and Power BI, along with procurement systems like SAP Ariba and Coupa.
- Strong change leadership skills, business acumen, and the ability to communicate complex data insights to non-technical senior executives.
