Benchling seeks a bilingual Implementation Manager (English/French) in Zürich to lead customer rollouts and expansions. The role combines scientific expertise, project management, and product knowledge to drive successful deployments of the Benchling platform for biotech and biopharma clients.
Benchling is building a world-class Professional Services team to support its growing customer base. Implementation Managers work with clients ranging from small biotech startups to large biopharmaceutical companies, helping them understand their R&D workflows and implement solutions that improve how research teams collaborate. The position requires a blend of scientific background, project management ability, and deep product knowledge to ensure successful platform deployments.
Responsibilities
- Oversee initial customer rollouts and expansion projects for new teams or processes at existing clients
- Lead implementation projects from kickoff to go-live, using project management, scientific insight, and product expertise
- Create detailed project plans, manage activities, and coordinate with team members to deliver on time, within budget, and to high quality standards
- Analyze clients’ scientific workflows to identify how Benchling can address their core business needs
- Facilitate requirements and design sessions, conduct data modeling and application setup, develop test plans, and guide user acceptance testing and training
- Serve as a trusted advisor, guiding clients through implementation and ensuring they adopt Benchling Best Practices
- Document customer challenges and advocate for them internally to influence product development
- Collaborate with sales to identify expansion opportunities after project completion
Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Immunology, Bioinformatics, Biological Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a lab or R&D environment, preferably in antibody discovery, strain engineering, or process development
- Experience implementing software, ideally in a SaaS company
- Strong communication skills to engage with scientists, IT leads, and executives
- Self-motivated and able to thrive in a startup environment
- Curious, creative, and persistent, eager to collaborate with clients and Benchling colleagues as a thought partner
- Willingness to travel up to 25% based on project and customer needs
- Fluent or native-level proficiency in French
- Prior experience using the Benchling platform
Nice to have
- Experience using Benchling, particularly as an administrator
- Previous software implementation experience, especially in a SaaS environment
