The University of Zurich seeks a mid-level researcher to analyze phenotypic datasets and conduct animal experiments on inbreeding in a wild mammal system over four years.

This position focuses on investigating inbreeding effects within a wild mammal population. The researcher will examine extensive phenotypic data covering behavior, life history, and morphology while developing statistical models to support interdisciplinary collaboration in behavioral ecology, network science, and genomics.

Responsibilities

• Examine extensive phenotypic data related to behavior, life history, and physical traits.
• Conduct animal experiments focused on inbreeding.
• Create and implement statistical models.

• Support the production of high-quality scientific publications.

Requirements

• Strong interest in fundamental evolutionary biology questions.
• Master's degree or equivalent in evolutionary biology, ecology, animal behavior, or a related discipline.
• Background in quantitative genetics and behavioral ecology.
• Demonstrated analytical capability and scientific independence.
• Proficiency in R programming, strong quantitative skills, and experience handling large datasets.
• Project management, teamwork, scientific communication, and organizational abilities.
