The University of Zurich seeks a senior research scientist in Schlieren to apply biostatistics and imaging analysis to large-scale biological datasets while supervising doctoral candidates.
This position focuses on leveraging advanced biostatistical methods and imaging techniques to analyze complex biological data, including single-cell and proteomics datasets, while contributing to the university's research excellence.
Responsibilities
- Apply modern biostatistical methods to large-scale datasets, including single-cell/nuclei RNA-seq and proteomics data.
- Develop a two-photon calcium imaging analysis pipeline for pericytes in cerebral slices.
- Manage projects and supervise doctoral students.
Requirements
- PhD in Integrative Molecular Medicine or Neuroscience.
- Experience in cerebrovascular biology.
- Experience analyzing two-photon calcium imaging data to elucidate cellular activity.
- Minimum 3 years of postdoc experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the analysis of single cell/nuclei RNA-seq data, proteomics data.
- Knowledge in R and Python.
- Experience with cloud-based HPC environments.
- Experience with mouse handling and breeding transgenic mouse lines.
- Valid FELASA cat. B certificate.
- Demonstrated experience in imaging techniques confocal microscopy and light-sheet microscopy and image analysis.
- Experience in cell culture techniques.
