Johnson & Johnson seeks a Senior Experienced Scientist for Biotherapeutics RD in Schaffhausen to lead analytical development for cell and gene therapy products using advanced spectroscopy and microscopy.
This position sits within the analytical development team in Schaffhausen, dedicated to large biological molecules. The primary objective is to advance the center of excellence for material identification and characterization, specifically supporting drug products related to cell and gene therapy.
Responsibilities
- Perform analyses using advanced spectroscopy and optical tools, including FT-IR, SEM-EDX, and various light microscopes.
- Investigate material defects and particles utilizing specialized, modern technologies.
- Carry out and document analytical work within a GMP-compliant framework.
- Draft clear technical reports and create presentations for stakeholders.
- Manage specific instruments, overseeing maintenance schedules and resolving technical issues.
- Create and regularly update work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with internal clients and external vendors.
Requirements
- Proven background as an analyst or scientist with strong hands-on expertise in spectroscopy and microscopy.
- Prior work experience in a GxP-regulated sector, such as pharmaceuticals or food production.
- Fluent verbal and written communication abilities in both German and English.
- Demonstrated experience handling biosafety class 2 compounds and adhering to related safety protocols.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with the SAP platform.
- Knowledge of machine learning techniques and software solutions for analytical applications.
