Intern Digital Engineer

Huntsman Advanced Materials seeks an Intern Digital Engineer in Basel to develop AI-driven tools on Databricks for Supply Chain decision-making.

This internship focuses on applying artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital solutions to address practical business challenges within the Supply Chain division. The selected candidate will engage in building enterprise AI applications on the Databricks platform, blending technical implementation with an understanding of operational workflows to enhance real-time decision support.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating AI-powered utilities leveraging Databricks, large language model agents, and internal business data.
• Design and maintain knowledge bases and data frameworks that store operational rules, business insights, and contextual details.
• Implement measures to ensure data privacy and quality, including the systematic capture of business knowledge.
• Develop prototypes for real-time meeting assistance, such as Speech-to-Text features and user interfaces for decision support.
• Gather and evaluate user feedback to refine AI recommendations, prompt structures, and agent efficiency.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a degree program for Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Business, or a closely related discipline.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Foundational experience with Python, SQL, data analysis, or machine learning gained through academic projects, internships, or coursework.

Nice to have

• A strong interest in AI concepts including large language models, automation, prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI agents.
• Prior exposure to Databricks, cloud environments, Git, Streamlit, or Dash is considered a plus.
• An analytical and proactive attitude, paired with strong communication abilities and a eagerness to learn new technologies.
