Sonova seeks an intern for its R&D Data Operations team in Stäfa to build data quality tools and handle big data engineering challenges in a hybrid setting.
This internship, situated within the R&D Data Operations team, addresses complex big data and real-world engineering issues. The successful candidate will develop methods and tools that guarantee data reliability and prepare datasets for advanced analytics, gaining hands-on experience with pipeline execution, data cleaning, and large-scale data volumes.
Responsibilities
- Design and build solutions for assessing data quality.
- Develop new approaches to monitor and track data health over time.
- Manage the entire solution lifecycle, from reviewing existing frameworks to deploying them in production.
- Conduct literature reviews on state-of-the-art data quality methods and evaluate their performance and suitability.
- Assess data pipeline capabilities to design and implement a data profiling tool.
- Build a working prototype of the profiling framework, incorporating selected methods.
- Test the prototype's performance and scalability using synthetic data.
Requirements
- A BSc or MSc degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of coding environments, particularly Python, along with dataset handling, statistics, and machine learning methods.
- Foundational knowledge of data engineering and familiarity with data quality concepts.
- Strong communication skills to bridge technical and business perspectives.
