Sonova seeks an intern in Stäfa to verify charging solutions for hearing devices through hardware and software testing, system-level validation, and data analysis within a hybrid work model.
This internship places the candidate within a cross-functional engineering team focused on innovative hearing device technology. The primary purpose is to gain hands-on experience in real-world verification challenges by co-developing a testing platform. This platform will validate software and hardware specifications at the system level, covering functional behavior, power management, and electro-mechanical aspects.
Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and upkeep the test infrastructure required for verifying charging solutions.
- Create, maintain, and run automated test scripts and frameworks to carry out verification plans.
- Design test cases for new features and modify existing ones to accommodate new product variations.
- Conduct experiments to evaluate charging behavior and safety mechanisms under realistic usage scenarios for hearing instruments.
- Work with engineering teams to define requirements and test strategies.
- Gather, analyze, and visualize measurement data, then prepare clear reports and documentation of test procedures and results.
- Troubleshoot measurement setups and support continuous improvement of test workflows.
- Collaborate with engineers on electronics, firmware, integration with hearing devices, and system-level performance investigations.
Requirements
- A BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Basic programming proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C.
- A hands-on mindset with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and curiosity.
- Comfort with data logging and analysis, willing to contribute to test setup, execution, and reporting.
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.

- Knowledge of manual and automated hardware testing and troubleshooting of electronic devices.
