Gridvision Engineering GmbH seeks an intern for operational grid studies in Aarau. The role focuses on modelling the Swiss electrical grid and supporting stability analysis for national and international partners.
This internship supports the development of solutions for the Swiss electricity grid on behalf of Switzerland and international partners. The position is integral to maintaining and improving the country's power supply infrastructure through advanced engineering studies.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain models of the Swiss electrical grid.
- Perform essential power system analyses, including load flow, short circuit, state estimation, and contingency assessments.
- Support the maintenance and enhancement of Energy Management System (EMS) applications.
- Conduct dynamic modelling and stability studies to aid situational awareness tools.
- Work alongside Swissgrid teams to facilitate operational and engineering tasks.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering with a focus on power systems, or an equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of network analysis functions like load flow, state estimation, and contingency analysis.
- Possess practical experience with offline electrical simulation software such as PSS/E, ODMS, or Simulink.
- Be proficient in script programming, particularly Python.
- Fluency in German or English is required; French proficiency is considered a plus.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of the French language.
