Responsibilities

  • Conduct systematic testing and iterative refinement of interface designs to identify optimal configurations for high-frequency applications.
  • Perform characterization and qualification of new solutions, ensuring all results are recorded in clear technical documentation.
  • Partner with design and process engineering groups to create and enhance solutions that satisfy both performance targets and manufacturing limits.
  • Deliver prompt and precise progress reports to Swiss PIC subject matter experts.

Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Show self-direction and the ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Exhibit strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills, including the capacity to troubleshoot complex technical issues and suggest effective remedies.
  • Possess the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and maintain systematic reporting habits.

Nice to have

  • Practical experience using optical or RF characterization instruments, such as tunable lasers, optical spectrum analyzers (OSAs), power meters, vector network analyzers (VNAs), or lightwave component analyzers (LCAs).
  • Familiarity with tools used for chip facet polishing.
  • Background experience in semiconductor packaging, microelectronics, or micromechanics.
