Miraex seeks an intern for micro- and nanofabrication to support R&D on integrated photonic devices within its EPFL Innovation Park team.
This internship places the candidate on a compact, flat-structure R&D team to assist in creating and refining manufacturing processes for advanced integrated photonic components.
Responsibilities
- Create and refine new process steps for integrated photonic devices
- Execute specific process blocks such as dry etching, photolithography, and thin film deposition
- Assist in building metrology methods to evaluate and characterize process outcomes
- Develop process steps before integrating new technology blocks into the existing workflow
Requirements
- Demonstrated interest in micro- and nanofabrication activities within a cleanroom setting
- General knowledge of micro- and nanofabrication techniques
- Strong attention to detail when documenting and reporting results
- Fluent written and oral communication skills in English
Nice to have
- Proficiency in French
- Prior experience in micro- and nanofabrication process development
- Understanding of integrated photonics principles
- Familiarity with metrology solutions for micro- and nanostructures
- Experience with data analysis
