Kandou seeks an MSc intern in Advanced R&D to research analog design and signal processing for bidirectional copper serial links, focusing on power efficiency and high bandwidth.
This internship takes place within Kandou’s Advanced R&D department. The primary goal is to explore circuit and signal-processing methods that allow simultaneous two-way communication over wideband copper connections, supporting the company’s mission to optimize AI infrastructure through lower power usage and reduced latency.
Responsibilities
- Analyze current technologies for full-duplex and simultaneous bidirectional wireline systems.
- Create behavioral models for wideband copper channels and transceiver structures.
- Research techniques to cancel self-interference in analog or digital domains.
- Assess how channel imperfections, mismatches, and non-idealities affect link performance.
- Design and simulate essential components using Python or circuit-level CAD software.
- Evaluate data rates, energy efficiency, and implementation complexity.
- Deliver findings through a technical report and an oral presentation.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a Master’s student in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Communications Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
Nice to have
- Experience with analog IC design and layout drawing.
- Familiarity with analog circuit simulators such as SPICE or SPECTRE.
- Strong background in signal processing.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
