IS Division Manager ELSB

ABB seeks an IS Division Manager for its Smart Buildings unit in Zürich. This global role focuses on IS strategy, architecture, and team leadership within the Electrification sector.

The Information Systems Division Manager for Smart Buildings serves as the strategic lead for the IS function within the Smart Buildings Division of ABB’s Electrification business. Reporting to the Division CFO, this position is responsible for aligning IT infrastructure with business goals, managing the IS landscape, and leading a global team to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant information services.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute the IS strategy and architecture for the Smart Buildings Division, ensuring alignment with both divisional business objectives and the broader ABB Enterprise Architecture.
• Lead the modernization and simplification of the division’s IS landscape, contributing to the ABB DSM program and supporting data standardization efforts.
• Manage the end-to-end delivery of the division’s distinct IS project portfolio, as well as Core and Common projects that impact the Smart Buildings unit.
• Oversee the provision of Smart Buildings-specific IS services (both Distinct and Common) and ensure that shared Core and Common services meet agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Maintain compliance with ABB IS Enterprise Architecture, IS policies, and relevant regulations, while overseeing information security governance, risk management, and compliance across the division.
• Control the IS budget, monitor spending, and manage cost allocation to ensure financial transparency, optimize controllable costs, and drive value-added investments.
• Organize, staff, and develop the IS team, providing guidance, motivation, and professional development for direct and indirect reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of professional experience spanning a wide range of information technology disciplines.
• Demonstrated success in leading IS/IT teams, projects, and business initiatives within complex, global environments.

• Master’s degree is preferred.
