SUMMIT RECRUITMENT AG seeks a Senior IT System Engineer in Luzern to manage Windows and Linux server infrastructure, develop operating concepts, and provide advanced technical support.
This position focuses on the reliable operation and monitoring of server environments, specifically within Windows and Linux ecosystems. The engineer is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive Linux operating strategy while ensuring structured workflows that prioritize customer value and system stability.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation and performance monitoring of both Windows and Linux server infrastructures.
- Design, develop, and deploy a dedicated Linux operating concept.
- Oversee event handling, troubleshooting processes, and overall problem management.
- Schedule and execute planned maintenance activities for server systems.
- Configure new systems and maintain thorough technical and administrative documentation.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to address their technical needs.
- Assist first-level support teams with complex issues and collaborate with third-level partners on problem resolution.
- Provide occasional guidance and support during apprentice training programs.
Requirements
- Completed training as a computer scientist specializing in systems technology, or equivalent experience, preferably with a higher education degree.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in IT systems within a large-scale corporate environment.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft server operating systems.
- Solid proficiency with Linux distributions such as RedHat, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
- Strong scripting abilities using tools like PowerShell, Ansible, and VB.
- Openness to engaging with applications specific to the healthcare sector.
- Native-level or C2 proficiency in German.
- Good command of English.
- Availability for on-call duties on a rotating basis every two months.
