IT Trading & Treasury Solutions Specialist

EFG International seeks an IT Trading & Treasury Specialist in Lugano to support trading platforms, resolve incidents, and drive system improvements for a team of 50 traders.

This position serves as the primary technical liaison for the Trading and Treasury department, ensuring the stability and efficiency of critical financial systems. The specialist supports approximately 50 traders by maintaining application integrity, resolving technical issues, and implementing upgrades that enhance service quality and operational continuity.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive technical support for IT trading platforms covering Securities Lending, Collateral management, Islamic Finance, and Derivatives execution.
• Serve as the main contact for the trading desk regarding complex technical issues, coordinating with core banking, infrastructure, and Operations teams to resolve incidents.
• Lead IT project initiatives to upgrade trading platforms, including gathering business requirements, designing solutions, managing vendors, creating test cases, and providing post-launch support.
• Build internal applications to fill gaps in existing systems, focusing on system integration and reporting capabilities.
• Implement and manage automated health check tools to ensure the reliability of trading IT platforms for internal clients.

Requirements

• University degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, SQL, and Powershell.
• Experience with application servers (Windows, Linux) and database systems (Oracle, MS SQL).
• Solid understanding of financial products including Forex, Securities, Derivatives, and Securities Lending, along with key banking processes.
• Fluency in Italian and English is mandatory.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of French.
