Michael Page seeks a Junior Legal Counsel in Geneva to advise on Swiss banking regulations, AML, and contractual matters within a collaborative team environment.
This position serves as a key legal partner for business and control functions, delivering specialized counsel on Swiss banking, financial services, anti-money laundering (AML), and broader regulatory issues. The role ensures compliance and manages legal risks across complex operational areas.
Responsibilities
- Deliver expert legal guidance on Swiss banking rules, financial services standards, AML protocols, and general regulatory compliance.
- Manage the full lifecycle of contractual documents, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating client agreements, IT and outsourcing contracts, vendor terms, and confidentiality clauses.
- Address and manage inquiries or demands from judicial, administrative, and regulatory bodies.
- Assist with suspicious activity reporting (SAR/MROS filings), internal investigations, and responses to regulatory enquiries.
- Track changes in legal and regulatory landscapes and help implement necessary operational adjustments.
- Provide support for litigation, sanctions-related issues, cross-border legal matters, and strategic legal transformation projects.
Requirements
- Hold a Master's degree in Swiss Law.
- Demonstrate a robust understanding of Swiss banking and financial regulations, including the operational context of financial institutions.
- Possess fluent proficiency in both French and English.
Nice to have
- Admission to the Swiss Bar.
- Additional language capabilities in German and/or Italian.
