Philip Morris Services SA seeks a Lab Forecasting and Planning Intern in Neuchâtel to optimize lab operations and support strategic planning within a hybrid work model.
This internship supports the company’s transformation toward a smoke-free future by optimizing laboratory operations and ensuring the timely delivery of critical projects. The position combines the resources of a multinational corporation with the agility of a startup environment, allowing the intern to play a key role in aligning long-term strategy with short-term execution.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze demand assumptions from various partners to ensure decision-making relies on accurate, up-to-date information.
- Consolidate and prioritize demand forecasts to provide a clear overview of upcoming operational needs.
- Develop actionable data insights and contribute to strategic planning efforts during financial cycles.
- Conduct scenario-based analyses to aid in making informed strategic choices.
- Identify potential project bottlenecks or delays early and collaborate with project managers and capacity planning teams to resolve them.
- Work with technical teams to enhance processes, proposing innovative ideas that boost efficiency, accuracy, and usability.
- Support governance processes to ensure laboratories have the necessary resources at the right time.
- Align long-term and mid-term planning with immediate priorities to ensure smooth execution.
- Integrate risk assessments and business continuity considerations into all planning activities.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience handling complex forecasting and planning challenges.
- Capability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and drive process improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence across different organizational levels.
- Proactive and driven mindset, passionate about delivering measurable impact and leading innovative solutions in a dynamic setting.
- Proficiency in Power BI and Power Query for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
- Possession of valid documents authorizing legal residence and work in Poland for the entire duration of the internship.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in Python and Excel VBA.
