Novartis seeks a Mid-level Lab Scientist for its Surface Plasmon Resonance team in Basel to support biologics characterization from proof-of-concept through commercialization.
This position sits within the Analytical Characterization team, specifically supporting the development of Novartis’ new biological entities. The scientist will provide essential analytical support within the surface plasmon resonance laboratory, helping to bridge the gap from early-stage proof-of-concept to final commercialization.
Responsibilities
- Conduct analytical protein characterization using surface plasmon resonance techniques.
- Create and refine SPR methodologies, as well as apply existing protocols.
- Assess and record experimental data with high accuracy and consistent quality standards.
- Draft study reports and detailed descriptions of analytical methods.
- Assist in the technical organization and maintenance of the laboratory.
- Identify and resolve issues related to established analytical methods.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biochemistry, biophysics, or analytical chemistry.
- Strong organizational abilities and effective teamwork skills.
- Proficient command of the English language.
- Competent usage of MS Office software applications.

- Previous hands-on experience with surface plasmon resonance.
- Prior experience working with proteins.
