The System Development department at Roche in Rotkreuz seeks a Mid-level Lab Technician for a contract role to support workflow optimization, system verification, and molecular biology experiments within a highly regulated environment.
This position supports the System Development department in optimizing workflows and integrating hardware, software, consumables, and reagents for diagnostics instrument verification. The role requires collaboration within a cross-functional team to maintain and advance complex diagnostic systems that have already been launched.
Responsibilities
- Supervise laboratory operations and manage laboratory equipment.
- Act as the working group representative within the quality team for laboratories.
- Provide assistance to R&D and validation projects.
- Conduct and analyze molecular biology experiments in accordance with established standard operating procedures.
- Manage the ordering, tracking, and acceptance of test samples and consumables following standard protocols.
- Communicate independently with other departments.
- Deliver experimental results to project managers promptly.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience and a willingness to work in a highly regulated industry and laboratories with biosafety levels 1 and 2.
- Proficiency in statistical data analysis.
- Fluent written and spoken English skills.
Nice to have
- A Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related discipline is preferred.
- Knowledge of the German language is considered an advantage.
